For over fifty years, Charles Duncan has sought to discover the elusive beauty of the classical guitar and to share it with others through playing and teaching.
I studied with Charles Duncan for about 7 years. Guitarist // The Art of Classical Guitar Playing & A Modern Approach to Classical Guitar // Segovia Masterclass #charlesduncanguitar. In my opinion, Yates is the most important book available on the subject of guitar technique.
I rate it slightly higher than Hubert Käppel's Bible of classical guitar technique, because Yates is clearer and more detailed. I prefer it over Scott Tennant's Pumping Nylon, because Yates is much more comprehensive.
Looking for books by Charles Duncan? However, Tennant is invaluable for his exercises. Yates has far too many exercises to be useful. No one is going to do all of them and it is just difficult to know which ones to select. There is almost no topic
